Emergency Fence Post Fix So Good Its Permanent

I've undertaken many emergency, quick, cheap, temporary #fixed1t fixes with many so good, they have become permanent over time either because I have become distracted by other fixes or I've decided to see how long they would last for scientific reasons. Whatever the reason the #fixed1t fixes have just gone on saving me money, effort and time. In order to benefit my subscribers, viewers and the channel I though it would be a great idea to create a new playlist and shorts with links to these fixes. So I devised a simple wood working solution with the intention of getting him back after a few months of covid19 to replace the post. But my simple fix is still working. I even had to really good garden design builders in for a few weeks, who were surprised by what I had done and despite swinging on it when asked about replacing it, they said leave it its not going anywhere and should last years. The is a link in the video to the original video repair, so if you have dodgy fence posts or your neighbour does, take a look at the link. If your considering down it (at your own risk of course) make sure you watch all the video several times as you don't want to get part way through and realised you don't have the tools or resources to finish it. How To Fit A New Bathroom Mono Lever Tap

After fixing my cold tap I discovered the hot tap was completely seized and I destroyed the brass nut in my attempts to unscrew it. Before anybody ask I had ALL the right spanners and tools it just wasn't for moving at all. Having removed that mono hot and cold lever tap I now need to install my new mono lever tap. First I need to descale the hole and the surrounding scale which cover from having a water leak in a very hard water area. How To Remove A Bathroom Mono Dual Tap

After fixing my constantly dripping cold tap I discovered the dripping hot tap was completely seized and the nut got destroyed in my attempts to unscrew it, even with the correct tools. But looking on the bright side I got a fixing the cold tap video out of it.

So before I can fit a new mono tap unit I need to safely remove this one with the minimum of damage to the sink unit, plughole and pipes as I want to use them all again ;-)

How To Fix A Dripping Pedestal Sink Tap

If your taps are dripping after being turned off you have a tap leaking valve or valve seal. I had such a problem on a ceramic valve tap and this video details how I fixed1t. Before I started the repair I turned off the emergency water stop valves to the taps. If you don't know how to do this use the in video link to find out how to do that! How To Get To And Close A Pedestal Sink Tap Emergency Stop Valve

If your bathroom or ensuite taps are dripping or you have a leak, then you will need to turn off the emergency stop valves under the sink or behind the sink pedestal. It sounds like it should be simple but Its almost as if plumbers make this inaccessible just to prevent DIY plumbers and techies like me from doing it ourselves. Often to get at the pedestal to remove it you first have to remove the sink, taps and all that entails so I figured out a quick way to do it.
