Play Fortnite Or Minecraft Or Learn To Throw A Boomerang?

One of the many statements I've heard over the last few decades, perhaps even longer, is that kids always need the latest and best technology or gadgets to play with, the notion being they are more sophisticated and that unlike in my day LOL kids wouldn't be happy fishing in ponds and throwing sticks or beating bicycle wheel frames with a stick till they roll. Young Oliver is one such child a Fortnite and Minecraft Master always locked to his iPad so when he and his brother Pascal comes out with Uncle Malcolm its great to do something different. A few weeks ago on one of my Sunday support days for Pascal (who is on the autistic spectrum) Pascal demanded to visit a castle. Some people take these demands literally and most castles are closed and a long way away. But a short chat with Pascal and we decided a castle was a building with towers and battlements so I found a UK 16th Century Monastery Ashridge House that met the criteria and when I showed it to Pascal he agreed its a small Castle. As usual I took young Oliver along with us and off we went. Sadly when we got there the House was closed to visitors due to covid19 but with a huge Hindu Wedding in progress and the grounds were also closed. It didn't take Oliver long to decide he was bored and that he wanted to go back to my place to play Fortnite et al. But I'd spotted three empty football pitches close by so I said we weren't going home until we'd thrown some sticks around the football pitches, I got the full huff shoulder drop sigh and I Oliver said "Really", so I said not any sticks we'd go find some boomerangs and throw them and off I went. Oliver and Pascal eventually followed me. This video is an edited version of the fun we had for over an hour and half, with Oliver, Pascal and I throwing boomerangs and Pascal sunbathing under a tree. It came as no surprise to me that Oliver was enthralled with this stick throwing and was actually very good at it, although he did nearly take my head off several times with one time me having to do a goalies dive out of the way, when I wasn't paying attention LOL As they used to say in Hill Street Blues - Be Careful Out There. So if you have children, and have things you used to like doing as a child don't assume they won't be interested in it and feed them tech. Fortnite Grandad Squads Alex Leads Squad To Victory Royale

fixed1t_fixer Fortnite (May 22 2021) Got a shout from #AlexbrawlGod who hasn't coached me for a while who was with some friends. So we teamed up for Fortnite Squads, being old and slow I don't have the reaction times but I try to help where I can. I just hoped the rest of the squad would be as patient with fixed1t as Alex has always been, time will tell. This game is such great escapism and despite being harmless fun it reminds me of my time in the military which is possibly why I don't run guns blazing in a melee but tend to use cover and move in shade and in valleys rather than jumping up and down on the top of the hills, roofs, bridges and cars LOL Despite being killed by some protective god, then resuscitated by Alex I went on to still be alive an taking active role against the final ten, but #AlexbrawlGod really was amazing. Thanks to all the squad for taking me under their care and bringing the team home with the win. Fortnite Arena Trios Grandad Plus Two Young Sweaty's

If you are spending your time moaning about how much time youngsters are gaming, how brain numbing and intellect wrecking it is and how anti social they are, then join them in the game and you'll discover its none of that, they are part of a vibrant, intellectual and socially challenging collective that challenges not only their reactions, perspective and moral compass, but that makes them equal whatever their age, colour or creed. If you think they don't have friends check the games friends list its a massive multinational conglomeration and they are as likely to be singing english songs as well as french german dutch russian arabic they've picked up from online friends etc etc one big crazy family.  In real life you can most likely count their friends on one hand and online they need a hundred.  You ask them to join you, why not join them you'll be surprised at their gaming age and abilities, I know I always am.

These friends of Oliver wanted me to make a Fortnite video of us playing, and they were good very good saving my life several times whilst putting themselves in danger to do it because they cared.

If your lonely, and feel you have no friends, play an online game and with a few days you'll have lots of new friends.

As with previous Fortnite season ending and starts with graphics and sound are amazing in 2D. But 3D VR Side By Side Google Cardboard video takes you right there with us. Fortnite Worst Player One Shot 2nd Place So Close To A Win

Yesterday Oliver aka #trickshotmaster2022 introduced my alter ego #fixed1t_fixer to ONE SHOT another crazy variant in Fortnite which was full of incredibly skilled 'Sweaty' players who can No Scope snipe somebody whilst flying through the air and bouncing around. I didn't do at all well, so I decided I'd have another go in the early hours. The first few games I obtained 16th, 9th and an 8th all of which was pretty good as you start of against 100 skilled players (I know they are killed because the unskilled players who don't like being slaughtered avoid such things). The last game before I went to my bed in the wee hours I got a stunning 2nd place against a flying sniping sweaty DEKU_0023 As usual my slow painful old arthritic fingers weren't quick enough and my reactions quick enough to pull off the win. This was made worse by the fact I was stupid enough to alert DEKU_0023 to my presence rather than doing my usual of waiting for the shot. But if only there were disability options that allowed me to build with the few remaining working fingers I'm left with.
